317Lは類似した317Lの合金の内容を除いて316を、タイプするためにオーステナイトのクロムのニッケル鋼鉄に耐えるモリブデン幾分より高いである。それに最低に汚染を減らすことを望む特別な適用でsupperiorの耐食性がある。317Lは硫黄の酸の混合物の攻撃にもっと効果的に抵抗するために主に開発された。Howerverは、腐食を戦う証明された機能使用をかなり広げ、他の多くの産業適用のために今使用されている。317Lの低炭素の内容は重い横断面が溶接の後で適用の粒界腐食にアニールすることができないか、またはところに低温の圧力除去の処置が望まれるか免除を提供する。
